We wanted to tell you about a new texting service that turns your text messages into letters that are faxed to your elected officials — for free!

I tried the service myself this past weekend and the interface is slightly clunky the first time you use it, but after using it once, subsequent texts are smoother. One nice feature about the service is that it texts you a copy of the fax it sent, so you can see that the fax is nicely formatted and looks professional.

I recommend the service as a fast way to "do something" when you don't have time to write or can't get through by phone.
